How to get to Madrid
Getting into the capital and largest city of Spain you have a few options. Madrid is best known for its great cultural and artistic heritage, as well as some of the best nightlife in the world. Madrid Barajas International Airport is a very major airport served by many cozens of airlines, located 13 km from the Puerta del Sol. You can get to the city from the airport by Metro line 8, or by busses which operate between the airport and Plaza Colón and Avenida de América in Madrid.
However, if you prefer to hire your own private transportation a Madrid rental car can be arranged to await your arrival to the airport. Madrid is also served by two smaller airports, Torrejón and Cuatro Vientos, however they host no commercial flights.

Spain's National Railway line, RENFE operates many train services to and from Madrid. Frequent trains run between Madrid and Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Zaragoza, Tarragona, Lerida, Huesca, Ciudad Real, Puertollano, Lisbon, Milan, the French coast, Paris, with continuing journeys to most of Europe. Northbound trains arrive and depart from Chamartin Station, while those to southern Spain depart from Atocha railway station. Madrid has eight international and intercity bus stations. You can compare travel times and prices between busses and trains. Many of the international busses arrive and depart from Estación Sur de Autobuses.
