Restaurants in Madrid
Spaniards don't typically eat lunch until 2 or 3PM, and dinner doesn't start until 9 or 10PM. Restaurants serve lunch from 1PM, but you can find places serving a little earlier in touristic zones, and lunch lasts until around 3:30. Most places close after lunch and don't open back up until 8PM.
If you find you get hungry in between these times you can always visit a bar or mesone, as they are usually open all day long and offer a variety of tapas and bocadillos (rolls) for a cheap price.
