Shopping in Madrid

Being one of Spain's largest metropolitan areas, Madrid has no shortage of places to shop. You can find major chain stores such as H&M, Zara, Mango, and Blanco, as well as a number of small markets selling handmade wares. Get around to the best shopping districts and small markets in a Madrid car hire.
The most convenient shopping area for tourists is around Calle de Preciados, between Sol and Gran Via. Here you can find several big name department stores such as El Corte, Gran Via 32, Sephora, and Pimke. Northeast of the center around Calle Serrano is where you can find the top designer shops, such as Chanel, Versace, Louis Vuitton, and many more.

For more alternatives, but not always less expensive shops, visit the Chueca and Fuencarral Street Area. This is known as the avant-garde and modern part of the city. The streets here are filled with hip restaurants, cafés and shops.
With the freedom of a Madrid rental car you can get around to the town's many markets. Visit El Rastro on a Sunday morning. This is Madrid's largest flea market, featuring every kind of homemade good accompanied by a plethora of live entertainment.
Check out El Mercado de San Miguel in San Miguel Plaza. This is more of a traditional market. It features an Iron and Glass structure from the 20th century.
